View original imageThis visit was organized to review the current status of research and development (R&D) support in the fields of advanced ceramics and semiconductor materials and components, as well as the operation of testing and analytical equipment, and to reinforce cooperation systems with research institutions.
On the same day, Park Jonggeun, acting mayor of Icheon, toured the major research facilities and equipment at the Icheon branch of the Korea Institute of Ceramic Engineering and Technology and was briefed on the latest developments in advanced ceramic material research and technology development in semiconductors.
In particular, participants shared information on the equipment used to support corporate R&D and the operation of projects linked to the Semiconductor Total Solution Center, exchanging opinions on expanding the foundation for regional industry support and revitalizing collaboration.
At the site, discussions also took place regarding the necessity of expanding cooperation between research institutions and local governments, as well as joint strategies to revitalize the regional industrial ecosystem.
