On May 19, Chosun University announced that it is implementing a "Student Participation Innovation System" to actively incorporate the opinions of students, the primary stakeholders, throughout the university’s performance management system, in line with the Ministry of Education’s University Innovation Support Project basic plan.

To enhance the appropriateness and effectiveness of the project’s operation, Chosun University has formed the "Student Innovation Team," the student representative body within the opinion-gathering system "T-PLAY" of the University Innovation Support Project Group, and held a semi-annual meeting on April 13.

The "Student Innovation Team" is distinguished by its composition of representative members from each college, allowing for the detailed reflection of the characteristics of each department, in contrast to previous committees centered on the general student council.

On this day, participants discussed the operational direction of the University Innovation Support Project and methods for reflecting student opinions. Among them, two student representatives were appointed as members of the University Innovation Operations Committee, the university's main decision-making body. Going forward, they will represent the voices of students on the ground and directly participate in key decision-making processes to express their views.

The university plans to establish a continuous feedback system by involving student committee members during the stages of project planning and performance feedback, and by deploying a student monitoring team during the operation stage. The plans include holding regular meetings in the first and second halves of the year, conducting student focus group interviews (FGI), and administering satisfaction surveys.

Through these efforts, the university aims to systematically gather student proposals during the formulation of the University Innovation Support Project and autonomous innovation plans, and to reinforce a virtuous feedback loop by reflecting these proposals back into the project.

Choi Hongseok, Head of the University Innovation Support Team at Chosun University, emphasized, “Based on proactive student participation, we will dramatically enhance understanding and engagement with the University Innovation Support Project,” and added, “By identifying innovation initiatives that reflect the voices from the field, we will achieve meaningful educational innovation that students can truly experience.”
