Incheon City to Foster Future Offshore Wind Power Talent through Agreement with Six Organizations
Incheon City has signed the 'Incheon Offshore Wind Power Future Talent Development Business Agreement' with six organizations to promote the sustainable growth of the offshore wind power industry and foster specialized human resources.
According to the city on the 19th, the agreement was signed by the city itself, Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, Incheon Technopark, Inha University College of Engineering, Incheon National University College of Engineering, Seoul National University Graduate School of Environmental Studies, and the Energy Transition Forum.
The agreement aims to proactively respond to the offshore wind power project in the Incheon area, which is expected to begin commercial operation in the early 2030s, and to establish a systematic local talent development system as well as a collaborative framework between the public sector, academia, private sector, and research institutes.
The city will oversee policies for the construction of offshore wind power complexes and the promotion of related industries. The Metropolitan Office of Education plans to operate linked educational and career programs for elementary, middle, and high schools.
Incheon Technopark will be responsible for demand-driven education and employment linkage, while Inha University and Incheon National University will focus on practical professional training and transition education.
