Wedding and Family Photo Shoot for Veterans’ Families
Held at Palgongsan National Park
The Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office (headed by Kim Joungsu) held a remembrance wedding photo and family photo shoot event for veterans’ families at the Gatbawi Native Plant Garden in Palgongsan National Park on May 16 to celebrate Family Month in May.
This event was organized by the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office and the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office to create special memories for veterans and their families who did not have wedding photos. A total of four couples participated—two couples on May 2 and two couples on May 16.
Mr. Jin, a veteran who participated in the photo shoot, shared, “I always felt sorry for not being able to give my wife a wedding dress because life was so busy, but today, I am truly happy to fulfill that wish. Seeing my wife so happy fills me with gratitude.”
Last year, the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office and the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office supported three couples of veterans who had not been able to hold a wedding ceremony by providing them with a wedding and a honeymoon through the 'Palgongsan National Park Forest Wedding.' This year, in celebration of Family Month, the program has been expanded to include remembrance wedding and family photo shoots.
Earlier, on May 12, the two institutions signed a business agreement to cooperate in expanding customized ecological welfare services for veterans’ families—including support for national park exploration programs—and to further promote veterans’ culture within the local community.

Kim Joungsu, head of the Daegu Regional Veterans Affairs Office, said, “I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office for joining us in supporting the welfare of veterans’ families,” and added, “We will continue to expand projects that honor and support veterans’ families through collaboration with the local community.”
