On the 17th, children gathered at "Forest Camp," a natural ecological experience space covering approximately 90,000 square meters (about 27,000 pyeong) near Mt. Hyangsu in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, listened attentively to the forest guide's explanation, their eyes fixed on the fruit. One child, fascinated by the walnut tree fruit they had never seen before, asked, "If I plant this fruit, will it grow into a tree this big?" When the forest guide replied, "Yes," exclamations of awe erupted throughout the group. The children participating in the "Children's Forest Experience" held the seed balls they made from seeds they collected themselves and loess clay close to their chests, smiling brightly.
SK Telecom's "T Long-Term Customer Forestcation Day," an event for customers who have been with the company for over 10 years, received an enthusiastic response from participants. In celebration of Family Month, the event was held six times from May 3 to May 18 in Forest Camp, a location usually closed to the general public, attracting significant attention.
Participants enjoyed a leisurely day, walking along a 1.5 km trail that is usually off-limits, accompanied by a professional guide, and taking part in a variety of programs, including family recreation activities. The forest experience program for children visiting with their parents was fully booked on a first-come, first-served basis, and the 80-minute "Healing Forest Walk" also concluded amidst intense excitement. An elementary school student who participated in the forest experience program said, "I heard that wild boars and water deer actually live together in the forest," adding, "I want to see a water deer in person because I heard their faces are V-shaped."
The competition rate for Forestcation was an impressive 863 to 1. According to SK Telecom, a total of about 550 long-term customers were invited over the course of this year's six events, with total participants reaching around 1,800. Attendees set up pop-up tents or spread mats in the forest and enjoyed relaxing together in small groups. On the lawn, parents and children flew gliders together or blew bubbles provided at the event, spending joyful moments together.
Elsewhere, a sun visor decorating event took place, and there was an activity where children could receive ice cream by solving simple quizzes related to the SK Telecom phone app "A.Dot Call." After enjoying lunchboxes thoughtfully prepared by the organizers, participants joined family recreation activities in the afternoon, sharing memories related to SK Telecom. The customer who had used SK Telecom for the longest time and received a gift certificate said, "This year marks my 27th year as an SKT user," adding, "I feel proud to receive such benefits as a long-term customer." SK Telecom has hosted Forestcation for long-term customers for three consecutive years, and as word has spread, the competition rate has increased annually, reaching its highest level the previous day.
