Kyochon Chicken Records Zero Franchise Closures This Year... Average Sales Reach 780 Million Won
Closure Rate at 0.0% in the First Quarter of This Year
Kyochon F&B, the operator of the chicken franchise Kyochon Chicken, announced on the 18th that the average annual sales per franchise store last year reached 780 million won. As of the first quarter of this year, the closure rate was 0.0%. This level significantly exceeds the industry average. According to franchise business statistics from the Fair Trade Commission, the average annual sales per franchise store in the food service industry stood at 351 million won in 2024, and the average for the chicken sector was 328 million won. Even the average for the top five chicken franchise brands is about 584 million won.
Kyochon’s closure rate as of the first quarter of this year was 0.0%. This is lower than the 0.6% closure rate recorded in last year's business report. According to the disclosure statement, the closure rates were 0.2% in 2022, 0.7% in 2023, and 2.1% in 2024. In 2024, there was a temporary increase due to the expiration of contracts for 20 special stores, such as theme parks and resorts, but excluding these, the closure rate has consistently remained in the 0% range. This is lower than the average closure rate for the chicken sector at 12.0% and the overall food service industry at 15.8%.
