Metalabs Posts 30.4 Billion Won in Q1 Revenue...Turns Operating Profit Positive
Metalabs successfully turned a profit on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of this year. The company’s improved performance was attributed to the streamlining of its business structure, growth in its key business sectors, and the positive impact of incorporating subsidiaries into its consolidated financial statements.
On May 18, Metalabs announced that its consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2026 reached 30.4 billion won, with operating profit coming in at 500 million won.
This revenue represents an increase of approximately 262% compared to 8.4 billion won in the same period last year. Operating profit turned around from an 800 million won operating loss in the first quarter of last year to a 500 million won profit this year, and the operating margin improved by 11.1 percentage points.
The company explained that ongoing efforts in streamlining its business structure, controlling costs, and optimizing organizational operations, in addition to the effect of incorporating subsidiaries and expanding sales in its key business sectors, led to improved performance. In particular, increased sales from new businesses in the fashion division and stable growth in the hair loss medical segment had a positive impact.
In the second quarter, Metalabs plans to expand its business structure streamlining strategy, which has been ongoing since last year, across its consolidated subsidiaries. The company will also accelerate investments in its fashion business and artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare segment.
In the fashion division, the company will focus on expanding its premium luxury brand licensing and vendor business, which was launched in June last year. At the same time, it plans to strengthen its licensed apparel business for well-known overseas brands to broaden its sales base.
In the AI healthcare segment, the subsidiary MetaSNC will lead the expansion of customer relationship management (CRM) solutions tailored for non-insured medical clinics, such as those specializing in hair loss and diet. The company also plans to simultaneously expand its domestic sales network and develop global solutions to proactively address the growing K-beauty and plastic surgery market.
A Metalabs representative stated, "We are reinforcing a profitability-centered management structure with fashion and AI healthcare as our two core pillars," adding, "To establish a foundation for sustainable growth, we are considering a range of options, including research and development, strategic investments, and mergers and acquisitions of promising companies."
