Bride and Groom Face Off in the Ring as 300 Guests Cheer
"Groom Says, 'I Couldn't Possibly Make My Wife Do Housework'"
In China, a professional wrestler couple drew attention by organizing their wedding ceremony to resemble an actual wrestling match. The bride and groom faced off in the ring, and the victorious bride received a special prize: a lifetime exemption from household chores.
On May 16, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on the unique wedding held by professional wrestler He Yincheng, who is from Guizhou, China, at a hotel ceremony venue.

A poster reading "Groom vs Bride" was displayed in front of the ring, and the bride and groom each formed teams to compete in a best-of-three match. The couple agreed that whoever lost the match would be responsible for all household chores for life.
The event featured real professional wrestling techniques such as body slams, tackles, and grappling, and about 300 guests responded enthusiastically, just like spectators at a sports event. According to local media, children were so absorbed in the match that they even forgot about eating.
In the final round, the bride and groom entered the ring themselves. Amid cheers from the crowd, the bride dodged the groom's attack, then brought him down with an over-the-shoulder throw. The referee then declared, "The bride has won a lifetime exemption from household chores." While this scene was a staged performance that had been rehearsed in advance, guests reportedly enjoyed the occasion, laughing and having a good time together.

So instead of hiring singers or dancers, my wife and I decided to hold a wrestling match." He added, "Of course, I had to lose in the end. I couldn't possibly make my wife do all the housework."
At first, both families were unfamiliar with such a unique wedding ceremony, but ultimately, they respected the couple's choice.
He Yincheng stated, "People really enjoyed our wedding. Through this opportunity, I wanted to introduce professional wrestling culture to more people."
