Russia and Ukraine have exchanged 205 prisoners of war each.

View original imageUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on social media on the 15th (local time) that "205 Ukrainians have returned home," releasing photos of the repatriated prisoners of war.
President Zelenskyy stated, "Most of them are soldiers, non-commissioned officers, and officers who have been detained in Russia since 2022," adding, "This exchange is the first stage of a large-scale prisoner swap involving 1,000 for 1,000 in the future."
The Russian Ministry of Defense also announced on social media the same day that "205 Russian soldiers have returned from Ukrainian-controlled territory" and stated that "in exchange, 205 Ukrainian prisoners of war were handed over."
U.S. President Donald Trump stated on May 8, during Russia's Victory Day celebrations for World War II, that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between the two countries and that a large-scale exchange of 1,000 prisoners of war would also take place.
