On May 15, Kang Younggu, Chairman of the Korea Fire Protection Association, emphasized the need for the association to leap forward as a centennial company with a spirit of innovation and renewal (革故鼎新), as the association marked its 53rd anniversary.
At the ceremony commemorating the 53rd anniversary, held at the Yeouido headquarters with executives and employees in attendance, Chairman Kang stated, "Let us achieve a new leap toward becoming a centennial company by driving AI innovation and customer-oriented management with the spirit of innovation and renewal (革故鼎新), which means 'repairing the old and establishing the new.'"
Chairman Kang viewed the four years remaining until the association moves into its new headquarters as a golden time that will determine its future. He remarked, "Over the past half-century, the association has faithfully served as a guardian of the lives and property of the public," adding, "Now, we must evolve into a world-class risk management organization based on our accumulated technical expertise and data."
Chairman Kang cited the following as key achievements over the past year: making tangible progress on the headquarters reconstruction project that will serve as a robust base camp for the association's future, the successful launch of the comprehensive risk management platform BRIDGE, which has been recognized for its economic value of 65.5 billion won, the expansion of fire safety insurance for disaster-vulnerable groups, and the Disaster Prevention Testing & Research Institute achieving its best-ever performance. He praised the executives and employees for these accomplishments.
