"Watch a Movie for Just 1,000 Won" Hadong Cinema Offers Ticket Discounts
Watch the Latest Movies at Hadong Cinema for Just 1,000 Won
Over 4,300 Residents Expected to Benefit
Hadong County in South Gyeongsang Province is launching a movie ticket subsidy program to expand cultural opportunities for residents and to revitalize the local cinema.
This initiative has been established following the selection for the "2026 National Cinema Attendance Promotion Support Project" led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Film Council. Under the program, each customer at Hadong Cinema will receive a 6,000 won subsidy per movie ticket.
As a result, out of the original 7,000 won ticket price, 6,000 won will be discounted, allowing residents to watch the latest movies for just 1,000 won.
The subsidy has been available on a first-come, first-served basis since May 13, and will continue until the budget is exhausted. The county expects that approximately 4,300 residents will benefit from the program.
The discount applies to both online and in-person ticket purchases. Online, residents can book discounted tickets via the Hadong Cinema website or the mobile app "D Tracks." For in-person purchases, the discount is applied automatically at the cinema box office without any additional procedures.
There are no limits on the number of times or tickets for in-person bookings, while online reservations are limited to a maximum of two discounted tickets per person per session.
Hadong County expects that this program will improve cultural access for residents and help revitalize the local cinema, which has been experiencing a downturn.
