'District Office Turns into Amusement Park'... Dongjak District Office Welcomes 10,000 Visitors During Children's Day Holiday
Dongjak-gu, Seoul announced that a total of 10,640 visitors participated in the customized children’s programs operated at the district office during the recent Children's Day holiday.
The programs centered around the large slide “Dongjak Star” inside the district office and the themed play area “Dongjak Star Park,” and also featured family musicals and magic shows.

View original imageAccording to Dongjak-gu on May 14, a total of 3,349 people rode the “Dongjak Star” slide over the holiday period. There was also an event where children could wear character costumes while using the slide. On Children's Day alone, the number of visitors reached 1,166, prompting the district to extend the closing time by 15 minutes, from 20 minutes past the hour to 35 minutes past the hour, for each session.
The number of visitors to “Dongjak Star Park” totaled 4,355. In addition to the existing AI robot Go, sand play, and jungle gym facilities, new attractions such as a balloon photo zone, laser shooting, and a football box were added.
On Children's Day, there were also a magic show, a balloon show, and a family musical performance titled “You Are Special.” A total of 351 families attended the performances. The “3D Media Art Wall” at the always-open Dongjak Open Studio attracted 2,585 visitors. This is an interactive facility where visitors’ own drawings are displayed on a large LED screen.

An official from the district office stated, “We hope that many of those who visited Dongjak District Office during the Children's Day holiday created special memories with their families,” adding, “We will continue to do our best so that the district office can become not just a space for administrative work, but also an ‘urban playground’ and an ‘open cultural space’ for our children.”
