Daiso Introduces Menstrual Product Voucher Payment for Female Adolescents
Participation as a Partner Store in the “Female Adolescent Menstrual Product Support Program”
Asung Daiso announced on May 11 that it will participate as a partner in the “Female Adolescent Menstrual Product Support Program” organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, introducing a menstrual product voucher payment service via the National Happiness Card.
With the launch of this service, customers can now use the National Happiness Card to purchase menstrual products at Daiso stores. However, the service is restricted at certain in-store locations and specialty outlets (such as those located in transit stations), and is only available at stores displaying the relevant information poster. The initial participating card companies are BC Card, KB Kookmin Card, and Shinhan Card, with plans to expand the list of eligible cards in the future. Additionally, Daiso is preparing to enable this service on Daisomall in due course.
The Female Adolescent Menstrual Product Support Program, organized by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, is a system that provides an annual subsidy of 168,000 won for menstrual product purchases to female adolescents aged 9 to 24 from households eligible for basic livelihood support, near-poverty households, and single-parent families. With this new introduction, eligible recipients can now purchase menstrual products more conveniently at Daiso stores using the National Happiness Card.
Asung Daiso also plans to collaborate with Clean Nation within May to offer domestically produced sanitary pads (10 pads per pack) at the price of 1,000 won.
