Gyeonggi Province to Train 500 Bio Professionals
Gyeonggi Province will collaborate with industry, academia, research institutes, and hospitals to train more than 500 bio professionals.
On May 10, Gyeonggi Province and the Bio Industry Division of the Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency announced that they would be recruiting trainees for a field-oriented bio talent development program, in partnership with expert institutions such as the Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Sungkyunkwan University, Dongguk University, and Eulji University.
Gyeonggi Province plans to utilize the specialized training facilities and practice labs established within the Bio Industry Division and to maintain close cooperation with specialized institutions and universities in related fields.
The training program consists of 11 courses, including ▲Bio Product Analysis Technology ▲Green Bio Industry Workforce Training ▲Bio Big Data (Genomics) Analysis ▲Bio Process Development ▲Digital Healthcare AI Solution Development ▲Biohealth Expert Training, among others.
Trainees will receive lectures and hands-on training from experts active in companies, universities, and research institutes in the relevant fields. Upon completing the program, they will be eligible for job placement support to help them secure employment with participating companies and related institutions.
All training courses are free of charge. Trainees with an attendance rate of 80% or higher will receive a certificate of completion, and outstanding performers will be awarded by the Governor of Gyeonggi Province and the President of the Gyeonggi Provincial Economic and Science Promotion Agency.
Through this training, Gyeonggi Province expects to enhance the basic and practical work skills of job seekers and to provide opportunities for in-service employees to strengthen their practical capabilities and transition to new roles.
Eligible applicants include local youth, graduates (or soon-to-be graduates) of universities in the province, and employees of companies based in Gyeonggi Province. Applications can be submitted after checking the announcement on Gyeonggi Biz Secretary (www.egbiz.or.kr).

Um Kiman, Director of the Bio Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The bio professional training program is a substantial initiative operated by leveraging the accumulated expertise of Gyeonggi Province and the Bio Industry Division of the Economic and Science Promotion Agency, as well as through policy cooperation among industry, academia, research institutes, and hospitals. We will continue to promote this program to ensure that both participating companies and trainees are satisfied by nurturing professionals tailored to future technology demands in the advanced bio sector."
