KTX on Gyeongbu Line Stops Near Daejeon Station Due to Malfunction, Over 900 Passengers Inconvenienced
Korail to Investigate Cause of Malfunction and Related Factors
On the morning of May 10, a Seoul-bound KTX train departing from Busan came to a halt near Daejeon Station due to a mechanical failure, resulting in an incident where more than 900 passengers had to wait inside the train for over an hour.
According to Korail, at approximately 8:32 a.m. on this day, a KTX train traveling between Daejeon Station and Daejeon Marshalling Yard Station stopped on the tracks due to a breakdown. Korail took emergency measures immediately after the incident, moving the affected train to Daejeon Station, and the 906 passengers on board transferred to a temporary train. During this process, passengers had to remain inside the train for about 1 hour and 19 minutes.
