Air Force 3rd Training Wing Holds '26-1 Basic Flight Training Course Completion Ceremony'
66 Student Pilots Complete Basic Course
Training New Pilots for the Air Force and Navy
The Air Force 3rd Training Wing held the '26-1 Basic Flight Training Course Completion Ceremony' on May 8 at the base auditorium, presided over by Commander Kim Seunghan, to congratulate 66 student pilots on completing their training.
This ceremony was conducted for student pilots who had completed the basic course in the Air Force flight training program and included 64 members from the Air Force and 2 from the Navy.
The graduates entered the program in August of last year and completed approximately nine months of education and training necessary for piloting aircraft, including aerial maneuvers and instrument flight. In addition, their piloting abilities were verified through practical flight training such as accompanied flights, formation flights, and solo flights.

Among the awardees, First Lieutenant Lee Jiseob (ROTC Class 152) received the Air Force Chief of Staff Award for his outstanding performance. First Lieutenant Kim Donggeon (ROTC Class 52) received the Air Force Operations Commander's Award, while First Lieutenant Lee Junseok (Air Force Academy Class 72) and First Lieutenant Jeong Hangil (ROTC Class 152) received the Air Mobility and Reconnaissance Commander's Award and the 3rd Training Wing Commander's Award, respectively.
Commander Kim Seunghan of the 3rd Training Wing stated, "I am proud of every student pilot who gave their best until the end, despite the rigorous education and training," and added, "I hope you will continue to develop into elite pilots in your future training and duties, without losing sight of the basics, principles, and your initial commitment."
First Lieutenant Lee Jiseob, recipient of the Air Force Chief of Staff Award, remarked, "Thanks to the support of the instructors, faculty, fellow trainees, and ground personnel, I was able to complete the training safely," and added, "I will continue to do my best in the advanced course to become a pilot who protects the skies of the Republic of Korea."

Student pilots who have completed the basic course will proceed to advanced flight training, according to their designated mission areas, at the 1st Fighter Wing (T-50) and the 5th Air Mobility Wing (CN-235).
