Byeongyoung Jin, a preliminary candidate running for the June 3rd Hamyang County Governor election, officially launched his re-election bid by holding the opening ceremony of his campaign office.
In his greeting speech at the ceremony, Jin emphasized, "Today is not simply the day we open a campaign office, but rather, it is an opportunity to reflect on the fruits of the hard work shared with the county residents over the past four years, and to mark the starting point for a greater Hamyang."
He explained that, as the incumbent governor, he suspended his official duties after the conclusion of the 65th Cheollyeong Cultural Festival and completed his registration as a preliminary candidate. He stated, "Although the preparations for the election were somewhat delayed and I was unable to send invitations to many people, I sincerely thank the county residents and fellow Hamyang natives who have filled this place today."

He stated, "When I took office, the county budget was around 560 billion won, but for the first time in the county's history, I expanded it to over 700 billion won." He added, "By focusing on field-oriented administration and actively securing funds, we have laid the foundation for Hamyang's development."
Notably, he cited the successful attraction of the Southern Region National Forest Fire Prevention Center, the selection of the Jirisan Scenery Road as Korea's first official tourism road, the implementation of the 'Oreul GO Hamyang' mountain summit certification project, and the construction of the nation's first dedicated dormitory for seasonal workers as representative accomplishments.
He also explained that, in addition to expanding living infrastructure such as the opening of a small movie theater, the construction of a multipurpose gymnasium at the Sports Park, and the establishment of a Nuisance Center, projects to build a foundation for a cultural and welfare-oriented city, expand the Singwan District industrial and logistics complex, and construct a large-scale data center are all being carried out smoothly as part of Hamyang's future growth strategy.
Jin noted, "In the past, Hamyang County often experienced instability in governance due to governors not completing their terms or serving only a single term, which greatly undermined the continuity of county administration." He stressed, "The damage from these disruptions was borne by the residents. That is a past that must be put to an end now."
He further emphasized the need for re-election by stating, "If the 8th popularly elected term was a time for sowing seeds for the future, then the 9th term should be a time for harvesting those results."
On this day, Jin also announced the core pledges for the 9th popularly elected term.

In particular, he stated, "By connecting the tourism, agriculture, biotech, and data industries, I will make Hamyang a place where young people return," adding, "I will establish Korea's leading mountain and healing tourism belt by linking Jirisan and Deogyusan."
Jin said, "Over the past four years, everything was not perfect, but I believe the direction was not wrong. If we stop, we have to start over, but if we continue, we can achieve completion. Please join me once again for the restoration of Hamyang's reputation and continued development without interruption."
