Kimcheon City Hall Athletics Team Shines with Gold at Mokpo National Championships
The Kimcheon City Hall Athletics Team announced on May 7 that they won one gold medal and one bronze medal at the 55th National Track and Field Championships, which were held over seven days from April 28 to May 4 at the Mokpo General Stadium in Jeollanam-do.
The highlight of this event was undoubtedly the performance of Kimcheon City Hall’s star athlete, Hyun Seoyong. In the women’s 10,000-meter final, Hyun Seoyong demonstrated dominant race management and a powerful final sprint, crossing the finish line first to claim the gold medal. She continued her impressive streak by competing in the women’s 5,000-meter event, where she displayed relentless determination to finish third and add a bronze medal, earning medals in both of her events.
Kim Tae-hong, President of the Kimcheon City Athletics Federation, stated, “I am very proud that our city’s athletics team achieved such excellent results at a major national event, bringing good news to our citizens.” He also added, “We will continue to provide full support to ensure our athletes can compete in the best possible condition.”
