'Timefolio Top Pick EMP Fund' Surpasses 20% Return in First Month Since Launch
Managing a Range of ETFs, from Equity to Commodities
Timefolio Asset Management announced on May 7 that the "Timefolio Top Pick EMP Fund (Funds of Funds Type)" achieved a 20% return over its first month since launch.
According to Timefolio Asset Management, the fund, which was established on April 6, exceeded a 20% return as of May 4.
This fund is a product that constructs a highly diversified portfolio using global listed ETFs. It was designed for pension investors who wish to manage their pensions easily, as well as individual investors who are uncertain about which products to select among the many available options. Based on proven macro analysis, the fund follows market trends to identify leading stocks and flexibly adjusts asset allocation in line with evolving industry trends.
The core investment strategy is the "Core + Satellite Strategy." The fund allocates its assets in a 60:40 ratio between a "market portfolio," which tracks major market indices by country, and an "alpha portfolio," which consists of sector-leading ETFs expected to outperform over specific periods.
In addition, based on macroeconomic indicators, global economic cycles are divided into four phases: recovery, expansion, slowdown, and contraction. Depending on the economic phase, the fund adjusts allocations by up to ±20% compared to the base ratio, while also actively including active ETFs that are expected to outperform passive strategies. A representative from Timefolio Asset Management explained, "This introduces a new investment style called 'Active EMP,' which goes beyond a simple EMP to pursue higher excess returns."
From a strategic asset allocation perspective, the fund makes targeted investments in mega-trend innovative technology sectors that are leading the transformation of global industrial structures, such as artificial intelligence (AI), aerospace, and biotechnology.
In particular, to defend against portfolio volatility, the fund also includes commodity strategic assets such as gold and copper. It primarily invests more than 60% of its net assets in equity-related ETFs and can flexibly utilize strategic assets to manage risk according to market conditions.
A representative from Timefolio Asset Management stated, "Because the fund manager handles the complex trading decisions and rebalancing required by changing market conditions, it can reduce the burden on investors," adding, "It is also a suitable product for pension investment, as it allows pension assets to be exposed to global innovation themes and expand investment opportunities."
