French luxury brand Louis Vuitton has released the "Shiba Bag," inspired by the Shiba Inu dog, sparking mixed reactions from consumers.
Recently, Louis Vuitton officially launched the "Shiba Bag" as part of its Pre-Fall collection. This product features a plush shearling material with natural cowhide leather handles, and comes with a detachable and adjustable monogram canvas strap. The bag is designed in the shape of a Shiba Inu and can be used as both a shoulder bag and a crossbody bag. Louis Vuitton described the "Shiba Bag" as "an item that boasts whimsical aesthetics and a surprisingly spacious interior, allowing you to comfortably store your daily essentials."
The dimensions of the product are 21 cm wide, 25 cm high, and 31 cm deep. It is currently available for purchase on the official Louis Vuitton website and at offline stores. The price is 12.2 million won.
However, consumer responses have been divided since the product was released. Some consumers have expressed that the bag is not very practical, especially considering the price of over 10 million won. Online commenters said, "Would you really carry the Shiba Bag in everyday life?" "The appearance looks too much like a toy, so it doesn't make me want to buy it," and "Wouldn't it be better to buy a different bag for the same price?"
On the other hand, some pointed out that regardless of preferences, the steady demand in the luxury market means there will be enough buyers. One commenter said, "No matter how expensive it is, there will always be people who buy it," adding, "There may even be those who find the unique appearance especially attractive."

Last December, Louis Vuitton sold a keyring modeled after "fish-shaped bread," a popular winter snack, for 1.41 million won. Louis Vuitton described the product as "the LV Fish-Shaped Bread Bag Charm, a cultural tribute to fish-shaped pastries," and said it "can also be used as a pouch to store small items."
