Regional Training in Yeongseo and Yeongdong in May
Enhancing Administrator Accountability and Gender Sensitivity
The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education will conduct a separate training program on the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence for school administrators and senior officials in May, with sessions held in different regions.
This training is designed to foster a healthy organizational culture within schools and to strengthen the accountability of school administrators and senior officials regarding the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual violence. The sessions will be divided into two regions: Yeongseo and Yeongdong. The training for the Yeongseo region will be held from May 7 to 8 at the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education's Education and Science Information Institute, while the Yeongdong region's training will take place on May 12 and 14 at the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education International Education Institute.
The lectures for this training will be delivered by Professor Yeom Gunryeong, an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Catholic University and head of the Korea Institute of Criminology. Professor Yeom, drawing on his expertise in the field, will cover the importance of preventing sexual harassment and sexual violence, the responsibilities of administrators within school organizations, and in-depth strategies for prevention and response based on real-life cases.
This separate training is expected to enhance the gender sensitivity and prevention awareness of school administrators and senior officials, providing a foundation for a more rigorous and responsible response to sexual harassment and sexual violence incidents that may occur in educational settings.
