It served as an opportunity to showcase the potential of Pocheon-style pet tourism by offering hands-on tourism content that visitors could enjoy with their companion animals.
Over the two-day event period, more than 14,000 visitors and 1,300 companion dogs attended. Overall satisfaction with the event scored 4.7 out of 5. This result demonstrates that a travel culture including pets can be further developed into a local tourism content offering.
The main program, the ‘Hantan River Dangdang Trekking,’ saw participation from 167 teams, totaling 420 people. Notably, companion animal behavior expert Woongjong Lee joined the program to provide on-site guidance about basic manners and safety management required for activities with companion dogs, enhancing the program’s professionalism.
The 'Large Dog Encyclopedia LIVE' program also attracted visitors’ interest. Operated as an interactive experience, it allowed attendees to observe and engage with a diverse range of large dogs rarely encountered in daily life, contributing to improved awareness and the spread of a proper companion animal culture.
In addition, a variety of programs were offered, such as petness yoga classes, the Companion Dog Mission Olympics, the 'Dang Water Zone' playground for dogs, and a pet fair and experience booths, providing visitors with rich and varied experiences.
