Ansan City to Support SME Export Logistics Costs... Easing the Burden of Overseas Expansion
On May 6, Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will implement the "2026 SME Export Logistics Cost Support Project" to strengthen the export competitiveness of local small and medium-sized manufacturing companies.
This project has been established to reduce the burden on exporting companies struggling due to the recent increase in global logistics costs and expanded external uncertainties, and to support their entry into overseas markets and export revitalization.
The support targets approximately 21 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies located within the city. Eligible applicants are companies with annual exports of less than 20 million dollars in the previous year that have completed business or factory registration in Ansan City and fully paid their local taxes.
Ansan City plans to subsidize up to 3 million won per company, covering 70% of the domestic and international logistics costs incurred during the export process. Retroactive application is also available for exports declared in 2026. The focus is on substantially reducing the companies' cost burden by including maritime, air, and land transportation.
However, support will not be provided for transportation costs between foreign countries, customs duties, value-added tax, warehouse storage fees, insurance premiums, or logistics costs for free transactions. In addition, if a company has already received support for the same export transaction from another institution, duplicate support is not allowed.
The project will be operated on a reimbursement basis, where companies first pay the logistics costs and then apply for support. The application period runs from May 6 to May 20, and applications can be submitted online via the Gyeonggi Business Secretary website.
The project will be entrusted and carried out by the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science Promotion, and inquiries can be directed to the institute's Western Region Center for more detailed information.
