The most significant change is the complete exemption of admission fees for Siheung residents. Previously, admission fees were partially discounted (▲1,000 won for children in kindergarten and elementary school ▲1,500 won for middle and high school students and military personnel ▲2,000 won for adults), but now all Siheung citizens will be able to use the Carbon Neutrality Experience Center free of charge. However, for non-residents of Siheung, the admission fee will continue to apply as before.
The fees for experience facilities will also be partially adjusted. The electric vehicle experience facility fee for kindergarten and elementary school children will increase from 500 won to 1,000 won, while the 4D theater experience fee for adults will decrease from 2,000 won to 1,000 won. The group admission fee (for groups of 20 or more kindergarten and elementary school children) will be reduced from 700 won to 500 won.
With this fee revision, the city aims to improve accessibility to the experience center for citizens, increase participation in environmental education, and strengthen the foundation for citizen engagement as an environmental education city.
Yang Soonpil, Director of the Environmental Bureau, stated, "The Carbon Neutrality Experience Center is an important educational space where citizens can directly experience and put into practice responses to the climate crisis and carbon neutrality. Through this fee revision, we hope to expand citizen participation and further spread the culture of practicing carbon neutrality in daily life."
