Pulmuone Yogurt Greek Surpasses 500 Million Units in Cumulative Sales
100 Million Units Sold in 9 Months After Surpassing 400 Million Last June
Proactive Response to 'Health' and 'Wellness' Trends Drives Success
Pulmuone Danone announced on the 29th that cumulative sales of 'Pulmuone Yogurt Greek' surpassed 500 million units as of last month. After crossing the 400 million mark in June last year, an additional 100 million units were sold in just nine months. Sales in the first quarter of this year also increased by approximately 25% compared to the same period last year, continuing its growth trend.
The company attributes this performance to product improvements designed to respond to changing consumer trends, such as the rise of 'Healthy Pleasure' and the increasing preference for low-sugar foods. In May last year, the company launched the 'No Sugar Added Plain' yogurt with reduced sugar, and in December, it converted all products to 'Lactose-Free (0% lactose).' During this process, sugar content was further reduced to ease consumer concerns, while maintaining existing strengths like high protein content.
The expansion of the product lineup has also contributed to broadening the consumer base. In addition to the core products—'No Sugar Added Plain,' 'Plain,' and 'Blueberry'—the company introduced premium offerings such as 'Greek Signature' and dessert-type 'Greek Compote.' Recently, the products have gained attention as part of the so-called 'Modisumer' trend, being used in recipes like 'Yogurt Cheesecake' shared widely on social networking services (SNS).
