The first round of on-site inspections took place on the 27th, attended by Mayor Jang, the head of the Planning and Budget Division, and the heads of relevant departments. The inspection team visited major construction sites across Oryu-dong, Gaebong-dong, and Gocheok-dong in succession.
The first site visited was Oryu Market, which is being redeveloped as a new local landmark. Now that the previously stalled project is back on track, the district plans to focus its administrative resources to further accelerate progress.
Next, at the construction site of the Gocheok 1-dong Complex Building and underground parking lot, the team checked the progress of the work and reviewed the convenience of use for residents, as well as future operational plans. The district intends to establish preemptive countermeasures so that external factors such as recent increases in raw material prices due to changes in the international situation do not disrupt the project, ensuring its stable completion.
The inspection also included the integrated new construction site of the public Sosan Senior Citizens’ Center and the private Songam Senior Citizens’ Center. The team examined whether the user-centered design—considering movement lines, rest areas, and accessibility—was being faithfully implemented on site, so that seniors can use the facility safely and conveniently. The district aims to develop this space into a comfortable and dignified leisure and welfare center.
Lastly, at the customer support center construction site for Gocheok Neighborhood Market, the team carefully checked for any inconvenience to residents caused by the construction and gathered opinions from merchants and residents.
The district plans to immediately reflect the issues identified during the first day of inspections in district administration and to continue a field-oriented approach for the remaining schedule. On the 30th, the team will visit five locations, including the Garibong District Market Complex Facility construction site, the Guro rail yard relocation site, and the Sindorim garage relocation site. On June 6, the final round will cover four sites, including the Cheonwang Neighborhood Park indoor playground, the Yeonji Neighborhood Park loess trail, and the Onsu Station area development site, concluding the overall schedule.
