IRNA: Iranian Foreign Minister to Return to Pakistan
Some Members of the Foreign Ministry Delegation Return to Pakistan
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to revisit Pakistan before departing for Russia after completing his visit to Oman, according to a report by IRNA on April 26 (local time).
IRNA reported that while some members of the foreign minister's delegation had returned to Iran after holding talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, regarding the end of hostilities, they were expected to rejoin Minister Araghchi in Islamabad later that night.
Previously, Minister Araghchi visited Islamabad to meet with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief of Staff Asim Munir, and others to discuss the situation in the Middle East. However, Minister Araghchi soon departed for Oman, and plans for face-to-face negotiations with the United States did not materialize.
Iranian media explained that Minister Araghchi's trip to Pakistan should be seen as an effort to build trust with regional mediators, rather than as a direct attempt to negotiate with the United States.
