"I Gave Serious Thought to Running, but Will Focus on My Current Roles"
Assemblywoman Seo Younggyo, who had been considering running in the Democratic Party's floor leader election, announced on April 26 that she will not be running.
Seo wrote on Facebook that day, "As someone who ran for floor leader in 2025, I gave serious thought to running again," adding, "This time, I will focus on my duties as the chair of the National Investigation Committee and the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, and do my utmost."
At the interim briefing held at the National Assembly on the 13th, Seo Younggyo, a Democratic Party member and chair of the Special Committee for the Truth Investigation on Political Prosecutors’ Fabricated Indictment Suspicions under the Yoon Seokyeol administration, explained the connections between cases by presenting the arrest consent bill submitted to the National Assembly during President Lee Jae-myung’s representative period.
