International Flights Resume at Tehran After 56 Days, First Since Start of War
Regular Routes to Türkiye and Oman Resume
International flights at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport in Iran resumed on April 25 (local time).
According to Iranian state broadcaster and other local media, two routes departing from Tehran—one to Istanbul (Türkiye) and the other to Muscat (Oman)—resumed operations starting that morning. This marks the first time in 56 days since the war began following attacks by the United States and Israel on February 28.
Ramin Kasef Azar, President of Imam Khomeini Airport City Company, stated, "Following the resumption of cargo flights during the ceasefire period, passenger flights have also received approval to operate," adding, "All airport infrastructure and navigation systems are fully functional."
Previously, the Iran Civil Aviation Organization resumed domestic flights at the two Tehran airports—Imam Khomeini Airport and Mehrabad Airport—on April 20, after they had been suspended due to the war.
