Samil PwC to Hold Seminar on Practical Strategies for Sustainability Disclosure

Samil PwC announced on April 24 that it will hold the "Seminar on Practical Response Strategies in the Era of Mandatory Sustainability Disclosures" at 2:00 p.m. on May 12 at the Harmonis Hall on the 5th floor of the Nine Tree Premier Rokaus Hotel in Yongsan, Seoul, with the support of the Korea Accounting Standards Board (KAI).
A representative from Samil PwC stated, "With the sustainability disclosure roadmap finalized and the amendment to the Capital Markets Act about to be proposed, we have organized the program by combining the Korea Accounting Standards Board’s approach to standards interpretation with Samil PwC’s field-oriented practical methodologies." The seminar will be held both online and offline, and participants can register through the Samil PwC website.
In the first session, Woonghee Lee, Standing Commissioner of the Korea Accounting Standards Board, will present the main contents of the sustainability disclosure roadmap and the direction of standards interpretation. Next, Samil PwC’s sustainability platform experts will share response strategies for key challenges faced by corporate practitioners. First, Jonghyun Park, Director at Samil PwC, will explain initial response measures under the theme of "Self-Assessment and Preparation Planning for Climate Disclosure." Partners Jinkyu Lee and Doyeon Kim will introduce methodologies for financial impact analysis for general and financial companies, respectively.
Partner Kyungsang Park will address key practical issues in calculating consolidated emissions, including those of subsidiaries and affiliates. Director Jin Lee will present governance and internal control establishment strategies for sustainability disclosures. Subsequently, Partner Jaekyung Shim will announce third-party certification preparation strategies based on the International Sustainability Standards Accreditation (ISSA 5000). Partner Youngchang Yoon will introduce practical applications for ESG reporting and disclosure response systems, such as report preparation support and carbon monitoring tools.
