Taebaek City to Open '2026 Taebaek Heavenly Wild Greens Festival' on the 24th
Taebaek City in Gangwon Province announced that the opening ceremony of the '2026 Taebaek Heavenly Wild Greens Festival' will be held on April 24 at 6:00 PM on the main stage of Jangseong Tantanmadan (centered around Jangseong Central Market).

View original imageThe opening ceremony for the 'Taebaek Heavenly Wild Greens Festival' will begin with pre-event performances by a pungmul-nongak band, a Zumba dance team, and a children's choir, all celebrating Taebaek's signature spring wild greens. The event will officially kick off the festival with a lighting ceremony, pungmul performances, and congratulatory performances.
During the festival period, visitors will be able to enjoy the taste of spring in Taebaek with fresh wild greens such as gomchwi, eoseuri, nungaeseungma, mountain garlic, and dureup—all of which are representative wild greens of Taebaek—gathered in one place.
In addition, there will be a variety of engaging activities for citizens and tourists to participate in, including a wild greens auction, a unity sports event, a deodeok (balloon flower root) experience, and a wild greens singing contest.
Food booths, hands-on experience zones, and a flea market will also be set up. Alongside a wide range of foods, there will be various experience programs such as making keyrings, diffusers, and photo magnets, as well as a kids' zone—offering fun for families and couples alike.
