1,634 Apply for Gyeongnam Office of Education's First Local Government Recruitment Exam This Year ... Average Competition Rate 9.2 to 1
The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on April 22 that 1,634 applicants have registered for the first 2026 local government official recruitment exam, resulting in an average competition rate of 9.2 to 1.
The provincial office will hire a total of 178 people this year, an increase of 16 compared to last year's 162.
According to the provincial office, the education administration (general) position, which has the largest number of openings, received 1,109 applications for 112 spots, recording a competition rate of 9.9 to 1.
The competition rates for each general recruitment category are as follows: Health 18.0 to 1, Librarian 13.5 to 1, Driver 11.3 to 1, and IT 9.3 to 1.
Specifically, 18 people applied for the single health position, 135 for 10 librarian positions, 113 for 10 driver positions, and 54 for 5 IT positions.
In the special recruitment categories designed to expand opportunities for underrepresented groups, the competition rates were 2.9 to 1 for education administration (persons with disabilities), 3.0 to 1 for librarian (persons with disabilities), and 3.7 to 1 for education administration (low-income applicants).
The provincial office will announce the test locations on its website on May 29, and the written exam is scheduled for June 20.
