Limited editions and special discounts available
Lotte Department Store is launching the 'Bandai Namco Fancy Festa' on the first floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil from April 22 to May 6, targeting the kidult demographic. With Family Month approaching, the company aims to attract more visitors by offering an intellectual property (IP) popup that can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups.
Bandai Namco is a global company that owns popular game and toy IPs such as 'Tamagotchi' and 'Gashapon', as well as content IPs like 'Dragon Ball', 'Digimon', and 'Gundam'. At this event, products based on these IPs will be showcased together. Popular existing items such as nanoblocks featuring 'Pokemon' and 'Kirby', as well as Sanrio character merchandise, will also be included.
Notably, the event allows visitors to purchase 'Tamagotchi', which has seen a resurgence in demand, through official channels. With the retro trend bringing Tamagotchi back into the spotlight, interest has grown to the point where secondhand units are traded at a premium. The popup will introduce the new 'Tamagotchi Paradise' alongside a variety of colors and models. The new products expand the number of characters compared to previous versions and enhance user interaction through device-to-device connectivity.
Additionally, the compact 'Nano Tamagotchi' will be unveiled for the first time. Designed as a keyring, this product offers improved portability and decorative appeal compared to previous devices. Related accessory products will also be available for purchase.
On-site, there will be a 'Gashapon' zone featuring approximately 90 machines. This capsule toy content combines collectible elements with randomness, which has recently gained popularity especially among Millennials & Gen Z. The event will feature a variety of character-based merchandise, including 'Pikmin', 'Pokemon', and 'Sanrio'.
During the event period, select products will be offered through promotions. Customers who purchase Tamagotchi or nanoblocks will receive complimentary gifts, and some items will be available at discounts of up to 60%.
