Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Holds 2026 Nano Convergence Technology Education and Employment Briefing Session

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Taehee) held a joint briefing session on the "2026 Nano Convergence Technology Workforce Training Project and Employment Support" at the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science and Technology together with the Korea Nano Technology Institute on the 22nd, aiming to foster talent in the nano and semiconductor fields among vocational high school students in the province.

View original imageThe "Nano Convergence Technology Workforce Training Project" has been implemented since 2013 and has maintained an average employment rate of 91.78% over the past five years, contributing to alleviating the semiconductor workforce shortage and improving youth employment in the province.
The briefing session was attended by officials from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, the Korea Nano Technology Institute, career guidance teachers from vocational high schools, and approximately 230 interested students. It was organized to discuss strategies for establishing a field-oriented cooperative system.
At the event, detailed operational plans for the on-site training curriculum, which is the core of the "Nano Convergence Technology Workforce Training Project," were announced. In particular, an intensive course of 430 hours was introduced for 24 third-year vocational high school students in the province, to be held from August to the end of November.
Participants shared industry-tailored education programs such as nano and semiconductor process and equipment operation, device fabrication practice, and measurement and analysis technology. They also discussed career counseling and employment support strategies for vocational high school students. In addition, roles such as discovering outstanding companies and connecting students with companies will be undertaken.
The briefing session also introduced the "Out-of-School Vocational Education Platform" project for second-year vocational high school students in the province, presenting strategies for early talent identification and systematic development in the semiconductor field.

Kim Hyeri, Director of Career and Vocational Education at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, said, "Through this briefing session, we will complete the core hub system for nurturing semiconductor talent," adding, "We will strengthen support for the growth of vocational high school students in the province by reflecting field opinions."
