In line with the broader push to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities, Shinhan Bank has proposed a new job model in the field of arts and culture and has participated in spreading an inclusive organizational culture.
The inauguration ceremony, held at Shinhan Art Hall in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was attended by Younghong Kang, Head of Management Support Group at Shinhan Bank; Youngmi Lim, Director of Employment Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Employment and Labor; Beomjun Kwak, Deputy Director of the Financial Supervisory Service; Jongsung Lee, President of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled; as well as selected members of the music group and their families.
The 28 members, who were selected through an open recruitment process, will now work in a newly established dedicated practice space. Under the guidance of professional mentors, they will further develop their musical skills through ensemble rehearsals and individual lessons. The group also plans to hold performances in the second half of the year. Additionally, Shinhan Bank will run programs to discover and nurture artists with developmental disabilities, thereby establishing a virtuous cycle of "discovery–nurturing–employment."
