Gwangju Buk-gu Offers Free Comprehensive Psychological Counseling and Assessments for Youth
"Youth Counseling Mind Toktok" Program Offers Psychological Assessments in Three Categories: Personality, Career, and General
In-depth 50-Minute Counseling Sessions Per Participant, with Systematic Support for Up to Eight Sessions
Gwangju Buk-gu has launched an initiative to closely support the emotional well-being and recovery of young people struggling with various concerns. On April 22, Buk-gu announced that it will implement the "Youth Counseling Mind Toktok" program for local residents aged 19 to 39, starting this month and continuing through the end of the year.
This project aims to help young people resolve interpersonal conflicts, emotional anxiety, and career concerns, supporting them in becoming healthy members of society. The program consists of diverse offerings, including professional counseling, psychological assessments, and psychological seminars.
In the professional counseling sessions, certified counselors will meet with young participants one-on-one to provide focused guidance. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and systematic support can be provided up to eight sessions if needed.
After the initial counseling, participants can take one of eight psychological assessments across three categories—personality, career, and general—to receive a detailed analysis. In addition, a total of six "psychological seminars" will be held, bringing together about ten young people facing similar challenges so they can empathize with and comfort each other, fostering emotional healing.
Youth interested in counseling can apply through the Buk-gu Youth Center website, and all services, including counseling and assessments, are provided free of charge.
