Soon after, a neighbor knocked on their front door and called for them.
When they opened the door, the neighbor urgently shouted, "A hot air balloon just landed in your backyard." The surprised couple hurried outside and found that a large hot air balloon carrying 13 tourists had landed safely on the flat ground of their backyard, narrowly missing the fence and trees.
The hot air balloon, carrying tourists, had apparently run out of fuel while flying through the air. To make matters worse, the wind was blowing, so the pilot had no other choice but to attempt an emergency landing in the backyard. The pilot let all the tourists off in the Perrins' backyard, then refueled the balloon and managed to take off again, bringing the commotion to an end after about two hours.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or property damage as a result of the emergency landing. The couple told the media, "It was truly amazing that the balloon didn’t touch any of our trees or the fence," and described the scene as "the balloon was nestled up against the fence as if it was kissing it."
