Performance Information Available via Website and QR Code
The National Asia Culture Center (ACC) Art Theater announced on April 22 that it will implement a 'paperless theater' initiative to reduce unnecessary paper consumption. The center will minimize the printing of performance posters and flyers, and transition program books containing detailed performance information to an online (PDF) format.
ACC has started a full-scale initiative this year to reduce printed paper materials to foster a sustainable performance culture. As the first step, the contemporary dance performance "Hug," held on the 17th and 18th at ACC Theater 1, offered the program book online. ACC homepage

As part of this effort, the center will decrease the mass production of printed promotional materials for performances and fully convert booklet-style program books to an online format.
This measure was first implemented at the contemporary dance performance "Hug," held at ACC Theater 1 on the 17th and 18th. The initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions and waste generated after performances by minimizing the use of paper and ink. Through these efforts, ACC plans to lead ESG management as a national institution and expand eco-friendly practices in the performing arts industry.
ACC will also take steps to enhance accessibility. The center plans to provide large print and Braille flyers on-site for visually impaired and low-vision individuals and other information-vulnerable groups, ensuring that everyone can access performance information while advancing environmental policies.
The online program books can be downloaded free of charge from the detailed page of each performance on the ACC website. At the venue, the information can also be accessed via QR codes. This allows audiences to review details about the performance in advance on their smartphones or tablet PCs.

Kim Sangwook, Director of the National Asia Culture Center, stated, "As this is our first attempt at such a change, some may find it unfamiliar or inconvenient, but I hope everyone will actively participate in these eco-friendly policies for future generations. I also look forward to creating a new culture where audiences download and review the program book from our website before visiting the theater."
