Seocho District to Provide KRW 580 Million for Public Facility Maintenance in 34 Multi-Family Housing Complexes
Forty Projects Selected, Including Playgrounds and Senior Centers
On April 22, Seocho District in Seoul announced that it has finalized the selection of complexes for the "2026 Support Project for Multi-Family Housing" and will commence full-scale support.
The Support Project for Multi-Family Housing is a program that provides assistance for the maintenance of public facilities such as outdated playgrounds, senior community centers, roads, and sewage systems in multi-family housing complexes with 30 or more households. As of December 2025, a total of KRW 580 million will be provided for 40 projects in 34 complexes, which were selected through a public contest from among 260 complexes. Depending on the project category, each complex can receive 50% to 90% of the total project cost, up to a maximum of KRW 58 million per complex.
This year, the effectiveness of the support has been enhanced in accordance with the recently revised "Seocho District Ordinance on Support for Multi-Family Housing in Seoul." The scoring system now places greater emphasis on the aging of facilities, and new support categories have been added, such as improvements to work facilities for multi-family housing management workers and the installation of automatic fire door closers. The evaluation form has also been adjusted, for example, by applying point deductions to complexes that do not fulfill the requirement to open passageways.
The district notified the final results to the selected complexes after deliberation by the "Seocho-gu Multi-Family Housing Support Deliberation Committee" and has provided administrative guidance to ensure compliance with relevant laws, including the "Act on the Management of Multi-Family Housing." Selected complexes may sign construction contracts for public facility maintenance starting in April and then apply for subsidies. The distribution process will be managed through the Local Subsidy Management System (Botam-e) to ensure transparent subsidy operations.
Since its inception in 2006, Seocho District's support project for multi-family housing has provided a total of KRW 2.457 billion for 1,330 projects in 921 complexes over the past 18 years.

A representative from Seocho District stated, "As approximately 65% of residential spaces in Seocho District are multi-family housing such as apartments, we will continue to improve public facilities that are directly linked to residents' daily lives and safety, thereby increasing resident satisfaction. We will also continue to develop a variety of support measures for multi-family housing to create a pleasant and safe residential environment."
