The “Pyeongtaek City (Preliminary) Social Enterprise Startup Support Project” is designed to ensure the stable growth and establishment of a self-sustaining foundation for (preliminary) social enterprises. It targets corporations seeking to obtain (preliminary) social enterprise designation, and provides up to 40 million won per company per round, for a total of up to 80 million won, to be used for facility and business development expenses that are directly necessary for increasing sales, distributed across two rounds.

This year, a total of 10 companies applied for the project. Following a document review and in-person presentation evaluation, three companies were ultimately selected: OEM Planning Research Institute Social Cooperative, FORES, and Onul Hygiene Environment.

The companies selected for the support project must obtain (preliminary) social enterprise designation by 2027 and, in accordance with the agreement, pursue social objectives such as providing social services or jobs to vulnerable groups and improving the quality of life for local residents, while carrying out business activities such as the production and sale of goods and services.

The head of Pyeongtaek City’s Job Economy Division stated, “We hope that startups seeking to realize social value through innovative ideas will gain solid competitiveness through this project,” adding, “Pyeongtaek City will continue to support the sustainable growth of the social economy ecosystem.”
