Inje County Launches 61-Day "Intensive Safety Inspection"... Joint Public-Private Precision Checks at 77 Sites
Inje County, Gangwon Province, will conduct the "2026 Intensive Safety Inspection" of major facilities in the county from April 20 to June 19, 2026, to protect the precious lives and property of its residents.
This inspection will focus on 77 aged and hazardous facilities that are at risk of disasters or accidents.
A thorough investigation will be carried out not only at popular tourist destinations such as campgrounds, amusement facilities, and leisure facilities enjoyed by residents, but also at essential everyday infrastructure including traditional markets, children's playgrounds, bridges, and tunnels.
For professional inspections, the county has organized a "joint public-private inspection team" in collaboration with related agencies such as the Inje Fire Station, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and private experts.
For blind spots that cannot be easily identified visually, the county plans to actively utilize equipment to meticulously examine structural safety and management conditions.
Any minor defects found at the 77 key facilities will be corrected on site immediately, while facilities requiring further action will be supplemented by the county securing repair and reinforcement budgets to ensure thorough follow-up management.
The county will also operate the "Resident Inspection Application System," which allows residents to participate directly.
This system enables residents to apply for inspections of facilities they consider dangerous in their daily lives, after which experts will visit the site to conduct the inspection.
The main targets are facilities used by vulnerable groups, such as village halls, senior centers, and old buildings. Anyone can apply for an inspection from April 20 to June 7, either by visiting the nearest township or town administrative welfare center, or through the Safety Report App and portal.
However, if defects are found in facilities requested by residents and repairs or reinforcement are deemed necessary, the owner or person in charge of managing the facility must take direct action.
Based on the inspection results, the county will provide detailed guidance so that facility owners can properly implement safety measures.
