Musinsa Acquires Publisher of Fashion Magazine "Magazine B"
Magazine B Sells 1.7 Million Copies in Over 40 Countries
Plans for IP and Licensing Expansion While Maintaining Editorial Independence
On April 20, Musinsa announced that it will acquire 100% of the shares of B Media Company, the publisher of the brand documentary magazine 'Magazine B'.
Through this acquisition, Musinsa plans to explore synergies in various fields by leveraging its media capabilities.
First launched in 2011, Magazine B has produced content that spotlights individual brands as cultural icons. Over approximately 15 years, it has built an archive covering more than 100 brands, including Freitag, Patagonia, MUJI, Tsutaya, and Chanel. The magazine has also been published in English, selling more than 1.7 million cumulative copies in over 40 countries.
Magazine B has maintained its distinctiveness in both design and editorial approach. Its content spans diverse sectors such as fashion, lifestyle, technology, and spaces, attracting a broad readership. In 2013, it was awarded the Silver Lion at the Cannes Creative Festival.
With this acquisition, Musinsa will secure overseas networks and content production capabilities. Based on this foundation, both companies plan to expand into global markets. They are also considering growing Magazine B into a brand that extends beyond media, as well as expanding into IP and licensing businesses.
