Busan Office of Education Strengthens Public-Private Cooperation for Supporting Students in Crisis
Meeting of the Student Customized Integrated Support Council Held
Building a Field-Oriented Integrated Support System
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Seokjun Kim) held a meeting of the Public-Private Council for Student Customized Integrated Support in the strategic conference room of the Office's annex on April 17, 2026, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation systems for supporting students in crisis.
This public-private council is a cooperative body established under the Student Customized Integrated Support Act. Over 20 experts from a variety of fields, including schools, local governments, and welfare and counseling organizations, participated to explore integrated linkage measures for student support.
Superintendent Seokjun Kim personally attended the meeting to emphasize the importance of public-private cooperation. Major institutions, such as schools and youth counseling and welfare centers, shared case studies and linkage measures for supporting students in crisis. Based on this, discussions were held on directions for inter-institutional cooperation and the establishment of practical support systems.
In particular, the meeting focused on specific cooperation measures, including: linkage strategies needed in the student support process at schools; connections to youth counseling and emotional support services; and potential areas for linking welfare and educational programs for children.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education plans to use this meeting as an opportunity to expand information sharing among institutions, jointly analyze and manage support cases for students in crisis, and further strengthen a sustainable, field-oriented integrated support system.
