HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is participating in the largest maritime defense exhibition in the United States, taking steps to enter the U.S. naval vessel market.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced that, starting April 19, 2026 (local time), it became the first Korean company to set up a booth at the Sea-Air-Space Exhibition (SAS 2026) held in Washington DC for four days.

View original imageSAS 2026 features more than 430 defense companies from 57 countries around the world, and is expected to attract over 16,000 visitors. At this exhibition, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, together with LIG D&A, organized a joint exhibition booth spanning 150 square meters.
The booth showcases models of state-of-the-art naval vessels independently developed by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, including advanced Aegis destroyers, frigates, next-generation combat ships, logistics support vessels, and submarines.
At this exhibition, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries plans to demonstrate its unrivaled shipbuilding capabilities and advanced unmanned system technologies as a partner supporting the next-generation maritime defense strategy of the U.S. Navy.
In particular, the company will emphasize that it is the optimal global partner to help the U.S. Navy address the challenge of fleet reconstruction and support integrated manned and unmanned combat systems.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will also participate in ‘DSA 2026’, the largest defense exhibition in Southeast Asia, to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for four days starting April 20, 2026.
At this exhibition, the company plans to showcase advanced platforms meeting the Malaysian Navy’s requirements for enhanced capabilities, including multi-purpose support vessels optimized for large-scale amphibious operations and disaster relief, as well as littoral mission ships, offshore patrol vessels, multi-purpose frigates, and export-oriented submarines.
