National Jungwon Research Institute of Cultural Heritage Recruiting Participants for Baekje Iron Academy
12 Sessions Every Weekend from May 9 to 24
Decorative Sword Making and Blacksmithing Experience
The National Jungwon Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, part of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, will host the "2026 Baekje Iron Academy: The Blacksmith Family" for elementary and middle school families every Saturday and Sunday from May 9 to May 24. The program will be held twice a day (10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.), for a total of 12 sessions. Applications will be accepted until May 2.
The program consists of theoretical education on iron culture, making decorative sword pattern stamps, and a blacksmithing experience with a craftsman. Participants will also gain an understanding of the history of iron production on the Korean Peninsula and in the Chungju region.
