Mayor Lee Sangil and senior officials at grade 5 and above attended the training. The session was led by Lee Hyunhye, a specialist instructor from the Korea Center for Gender Equality Education and Director of the Human Rights Research Institute at Haesong Law Firm, who introduced cases of sexual harassment and sexual violence and explained preventive and responsive actions.
Mayor Lee attended the entire sexual harassment and sexual violence prevention training.
Prior to the training, Mayor Lee stated in his opening remarks, "Sexual harassment and sexual violence are crimes that must never be committed, whether online or offline. There is a shared understanding that the city should respond with a zero-tolerance policy. I ask all senior officials to keep this in mind and make special efforts to prevent such incidents from occurring."
Mayor Lee went on to say, "We must continue to participate in such training, consistently reflect on our attitudes, and create a community where colleagues respect and care for each other. If we are mindful of our words and actions to avoid hurting one another, we can build a more considerate community."
The training also covered the responsibilities of agency heads and managers in preventing sexual harassment, sexual violence, and secondary harm within the organization. It included content on preventing "violence in intimate relationships," such as domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
