Gijang County in Busan (Governor Jeong Jongbok) announced that the “Gijang Senior Citizens Festival” will be held at Gijang Gymnasium on April 15.
This year marks the 27th edition of the event, which has been organized to commemorate the upcoming Parents’ Day. The festival aims to bring together senior citizens to enjoy various performances and hands-on programs, fostering communication and community. The event will be hosted by the Gijang County Saemaul Association.
The festivities will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with pre-event performances. There will be talent donation stages featuring senior citizens from the local welfare center, including a classical choir, Korean traditional dance, Nanta (percussion performance), saxophone, and guitar performances.
Following this, the opening ceremony will commence at 12:20 p.m. During the first part of the official program, commendations will be awarded to individuals who have contributed to promoting respect for the elderly and filial piety. Starting at 1:00 p.m., celebratory performances by singers Jin Sung, Seby, ElecDiva, and Taenam will further elevate the festival atmosphere.
Various hands-on programs will also be available at the venue, including health check-ups for seniors, employment counseling for the elderly, and beauty and makeup services.
