The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education operates 31 out of the 125 Autonomous Public High School 2.0 institutions nationwide, the largest number in the country.
The regional network divides the 31 operating schools into four regions. The schedule is as follows: ▲ Region 1 (8 schools, central school: Pocheon High School, on the 7th) ▲ Region 2 (8 schools, central school: Deokjeong High School, on the 8th) ▲ Region 3 (8 schools, central school: Seongnam High School, on the 10th) ▲ Region 4 (8 schools, central school: Yongin Samgye High School, on the 9th).
The event will be attended by vice principals and teachers in charge from autonomous public high schools, supervisors from local education support offices, and officials from the provincial office of education.
The main theme for the first half of the year’s discussions is 'Case Studies on Implementing Key Tasks by School.' Participants will share case studies on the implementation of required tasks (such as curriculum, teaching, and assessment) and optional tasks (such as community-linked education, career education, character education, and digital education), and present outcomes and challenges.
In particular, the regional network will introduce local institution agreement programs that have been promoted to develop educational models for each school. Also, the event will include sharing of cases that spread various collaborative educational activities with nearby schools, and discussions on sustainable development strategies targeted by Autonomous Public High School 2.0.
The provincial office of education plans to use the results of the first half regional network to inform the second half network operations, research school management, performance evaluation, and the dissemination of best practices, thereby strengthening the Autonomous Public High School 2.0 policy.
