Naeseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market Establishes Proactive Fire Safety Management System
Selected for Public Procurement Service’s Pilot Purchase of Innovative Products
and Gyeongsangnam-do Public Wholesale Market Facility Modernization Project
The Changwon Agricultural Technology Center in Gyeongnam Changwon Special City is simultaneously introducing an AI-based fire alarm system and modernizing outdated fire protection facilities at the Naeseo Agricultural Products Wholesale Market to dramatically improve fire safety management.
The city has been selected for the Public Procurement Service's pilot program for innovative products and will actively proceed with the installation of a multi-sensing digital fire alarm device equipped with real fire detection intelligence. In April, a contract for the project was finalized between the Public Procurement Service and the supplier. Of the total project cost of 32 million won, the Public Procurement Service will cover 16 million won for product purchases, while Changwon City will bear 16 million won for installation.
The innovative product being introduced features AI-powered intelligent detection technology that analyzes various signals detected from flames in a comprehensive manner to determine the presence of an actual fire. This is expected to minimize false alarms caused by frequent malfunctions of existing detectors and fundamentally resolve the issue of safety complacency resulting from repeated false alarms.
Additionally, the city has also been selected for the Gyeongsangnam-do Public Wholesale Market Facility Modernization Project. With a total project budget of 160 million won, outdated fire protection facilities will be improved. The main focus of the project will be on replacing the main Type R receiver and emergency broadcasting equipment.
