Korea MDRT Association Holds MDRT "Gives Day," Raises About $60,000 with Korea Team Participation
The Korea MDRT Association announced that on March 25, it held the global fundraising event "MDRT Gives Day," organized by the MDRT Foundation, at the Challenge Room in I-Park Tower, Samseong-dong, Seoul.
This event was organized to bring together MDRT Korea team fundraisers to share the value of giving and participate in global social contribution activities. Out of the total 25 members of the Korea team, 23 attended, demonstrating a high participation rate.
In particular, this year’s Gives Day was held as a global event, with MDRT members from around the world—including Korea, the United States, Europe, Canada, Central and South America, the Middle East and South Asia, Southeast Asia (Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia), Hong Kong and Macau, and Oceania—participating simultaneously in their respective regional teams. Each national and regional team took part in fundraising activities with a shared purpose, further emphasizing solidarity as a global community.
On this day, the Korea team raised approximately $60,000. This amount is about 60% of their fundraising goal and was achieved through the voluntary participation and encouragement of the members. At the event, there was a continuous atmosphere of encouraging donations among members and sharing the purpose of the event.
MDRT Gives Day is a global fundraising event in which MDRT members worldwide participate as fundraisers to promote a culture of giving. Members encourage donations through their personal networks, and the funds raised are delivered through the MDRT Foundation to communities in need in various countries.
The funds raised this time will be distributed through the MDRT Foundation's Global Grants Program. This program operates by accepting applications from charitable organizations recommended by MDRT members, reviewing them, and then providing funding.
Applications for donations are accepted each year until September 1. The results are announced in January of the following year, and funds are distributed between February and May. The MDRT Foundation limits consecutive support for the same organization to ensure a more balanced distribution to a variety of regions and organizations.
In fact, during 2025, the MDRT Foundation supported a total of 461 grants to charitable organizations in 36 countries. The amount raised by the Korea team will also be distributed to various regions through this program.
Meanwhile, to encourage ongoing participation in giving, the MDRT Foundation operates a lifetime giving program called the "MDRT Foundation Knight." Members who have contributed a cumulative donation of $2,000 or more are granted Knight status, which comes with benefits such as a ribbon that can be worn at the MDRT Annual Meeting, a certificate, and listing in the annual report.
The Knight levels are structured in stages: Bronze (for donations of $2,000), followed by Silver, Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Excalibur Knight, Legend of Honor, Royal Order, and Million Dollar Knight.
